Starting the website (repost)

Well, about time I finally got around to this.

As I've been throwing this together, I've also been feeling emotions I haven't enjoyed since my first few weeks as a sixteen-year-old throwing Wikitronia together from the couple hundred articles ArghYeMatey (@RealmOfKarzahni) had made for Custom BIONICLE Wiki. It's a unique activity, making web content, and seeing your hard work be rewarded by a REAL, HONEST-TO-GOODNESS WEBSITE you can ACTUALLY VISIT and OTHER REAL PEOPLE CAN SEE is a joy that I haven't really seen elsewhere.

I guess it's the joy of creation. The reaction to the realization that you've spawned some memetic entity soon to sojourn into the personal mindspace of other humans instead of remaining forever locked in your own mind. It's magical, and I love it.

I should do it more often.

That's one reason this website exists, and why my Logitech G810's switches are clacking under my fingers as I attempt to type competently. I need a home base. I need some launchpad for future pursuits. I'm not expecting anything to be amazing, but since I've done my fair share of not much of anything, I guess up is the more likely direction from here.

I have big ideas, but small turnover so far, but as the link to Wikitronia up top proves, I absolutely have the capacity for prolific creation if I set my mind to it. I've done it before, but I had to let those neural pathways lie dormant for five years while at school. I'm writing this as much for my own encouragement as I am for teasing what may be to come. I can do it. I just need to actually get started.

As Tom Scott (@TomScott) put it, the Internet is a much less connected place after "we all hid behind walled gardens" of social media platforms. That's why this website exists. It's consistent and viewable by anyone from anywhere no matter their accounts on whatever platforms suit their fancy. Putting up a personal website is like making your own garden out in the open for anyone who walks by to see, which is precisely my hope. I think I have something to contribute, and I want to do my part.

If you're reading this, well, you see the Twitter link below, I'm sure. Come say hi! I'd appreciate it. And if I've made something you like by the time you see this, I'd like to hear what you have to say.

Have an amazing day!
